The Australian put in a sensational performance from pole, controlling this evening’s 57-lap night race, which thrilled fans at Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.
With the result, Piastri registered his maiden grand prix triumph in Bahrain and the fourth of his F1 career, while also taking his second victory of the 2025 F1 season.
Joining him on the podium were runner-up George Russell of Mercedes and McLaren teammate Lando Norris in third, both of whom took their first podiums in Bahrain.
Oscar Piastri said after getting out of his car: “It’s great to have this result out here. It’s been an incredible weekend – starting with qualifying yesterday and finishing the job today in style. It’s nice. Can’t thank the team enough.
“I’m very proud of what I’ve done this weekend. Great to do it in Bahrain, it’s a very important race for us. It’s not a track that’s been kind to us, so it’s nice to get the win here.”
