JBF Bahrain, a leading manufacturer of Biaxially Oriented PET Films (BOPET), celebrated in February over a decade of continuous growth with ministerial recognition with a special ceremony attended by Industry and Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro.
The company, established in 2012, has a manufacturing capacity of 90ktpa and produces a wide range of film specifications for applications such as packaging, photovoltaic technology, electrical insulation, labelling, and flat screens. It has also become a key producer of high-quality chemically recycled PCR film, reinforcing its commitment to global sustainability initiatives and advancing environmentally responsible production practices.
JBF Bahrain is strategically located within Bahrain’s Free Trade International Investment Park and continues to set industry benchmarks in sustainability through innovative packaging solutions. The company is focused on reducing, reusing, and recycling materials by downgauging packaging films up to 6.5µ, significantly cutting material usage. Longer reels contribute to efficiency and waste reduction, while JBF Bahrain offers returnable packaging concepts and ensures 100 per cent recycling of plain and metallised waste for captive use.
Recognising its outstanding sustainability efforts, JBF Bahrain has been awarded the prestigious ‘Green Factory Label.’ It is one of only 30 factories in the kingdom to receive this recognition, a key initiative under the Government of Bahrain’s Industrial Sector Strategy (2022-2026) aimed at fostering a more advanced and sustainable industrial sector.
During the company’s 10th anniversary celebration, a representative of the largest shareholder announced that the shareholder and company are committed to increasing operations of the plant over the coming months and quarters. Abdul Wahab Al Halabi, a member of the company’s board of directors, emphasised the company’s intention to invest in technological advancements to enhance the quality of its polyester plastic products and develop human capabilities, including those of the Bahraini workforce.
Bilgekagan Ozturk, Group CEO of JBF Bahrain and JBF Global Europe, announced the start of its 10-year anniversary celebrations, highlighting the company’s resilience and commitment to excellence. The company is entering a new era of transformation, sustainability, and value creation, focusing on innovation, profitability, and long-term growth for customers, partners, and stakeholders.
