His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, affirmed yesterday the kingdom’s position as a global destination for major sporting events and championships, in line with the visions and aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad.
This came as HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister attended the closing ceremony of the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on behalf of His Majesty.
He noted the kingdom’s commitment to enhancing its sports sector by achieving regional and international sports accomplishments.
HRH Prince Salman commended Bahrain’s ability to host world-class sporting events, attributing this success to the kingdom’s attractive features, advanced infrastructure, and the expertise of its national workforce.
He also highlighted the growing popularity of golf in the region, and the importance of further developing this sport.
He also noted the contributions of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in advancing Bahrain’s sports sector, which played a key role in the success of this year’s Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, which was held under the patronage of the King.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister extended his gratitude and appreciation to the sponsors, contributors and organisers of the championship, and wished them future success in organising other events.
DP World Tour CEO Guy Kinnings commended the unwavering support of the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister in promoting golf in Bahrain. Kinnings also acknowledged Shaikh Nasser’s role in supporting golf, and Shaikh Khalid’s commitment to ensuring the success of the championship.
