MMA - Bahrain's greatest mixed martial arts (MMA) athlete of all time, Hamza Kooheji, is making an impact both inside and outside the cage through philanthropy and community engagement.
In an initiative promoted by KHK Heroes, Kooheji visited children undergoing cancer treatment at Salmaniya Medical Complex, bringing joy and encouragement to young patients and their families.
This heartfelt visit highlighted the resilience of these brave children, the true fighters in their battle against illness.
Accompanied by Bahrain Government Hospitals communications chief Ali Taleb, Kooheji took the time to meet with the children and several families, sharing uplifting stories and reinforcing their strength in facing challenges.
“These children are true warriors,” Kooheji stated. “Their courage inspires us all, and I am here to remind them that they are not alone in this fight.”
The visit aimed to raise awareness about childhood cancer and the ongoing need for community support. Kooheji’s presence served as a reminder of the collective responsibility to uplift those in need and foster an environment of hope and healing.
As he concluded his visit, Kooheji expressed his dedication to advocating for children’s health and well-being in Bahrain, leaving a lasting impact on both the children and their families.
Kooheji’s involvement with KHK Heroes exemplifies the organisation’s commitment to community engagement.
Alongside Kooheji, fellow KHK MMA and Brave CF athlete Hussain Al Kurdi has also been making significant contributions to the team’s philanthropic efforts. The presence of KHK Heroes general manager Noora Abdulla Abdulrahman Abdulla Bujelaia further strengthens the organisation’s dedication to making a positive impact in Bahrain and beyond.
Looking ahead, Kooheji’s much-anticipated comeback fight is scheduled for Friday at Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town.
In the co-main event of Brave CF 91, ‘The Pride of Bahrain’ will face Turkey’s Alperen Karabulut, while the main event features Bantamweight champion Nkosi Ndebele taking on challenger Nicholas Hwende.
This upcoming fight not only showcases Kooheji’s prowess in the cage but also highlights his role as an inspiration to many, including the young cancer patients he visited. His dual impact as both a fighter and a community figure continues to solidify his status as Bahrain’s MMA superstar.
