POWERLIFTING – Staff Sergeant Fatima Ali Nasser of the Public Security Sports Association (PSSA) achieved a notable milestone for Bahrain at the Asian Powerlifting Championship 2024, held in Uzbekistan.
Staff Sergeant Nasser secured advanced rankings across multiple categories, earning second place in the benchpress, second in deadlift, third in squats, and third overall with a total weight of 405kg.
PSSA president Brigadier Khaled Abdulaziz Al Khayat commended Staff Sergeant Nasser’s exceptional performance, describing her as a role model for Bahraini athletes in international competitions. He emphasised that this achievement reflects the professionalism and dedication of Bahrain’s athletes on the global stage.
Brigadier Al Khayat highlighted that this success aligns with the vision of Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa to enhance Bahrain’s position in the sports sector and showcase the capabilities of Ministry of Interior personnel in achieving excellence at regional and international levels.
