His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa congratulated His Majesty on Bahrain’s selection as the host for the Asian Youth Games.
Shaikh Nasser was speaking as he chaired the final SCYS meeting of the year, attended by SCYS first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, alongside council members.
Shaikh Nasser commended the unwavering support of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for its efforts in advancing the youth and sports sectors. He also congratulated Shaikh Khalid on the success of Bahrain’s hosting of the International School Sports Federation (ISF) Gymnasiade 2024, highlighting the GSA’s role in achieving this milestone and affirming Bahrain’s readiness to host both the Asian and Arab events.
Shaikh Nasser also congratulated the Youth Affairs Ministry for winning the Best Arab Government Project to Empower Young People at the Arab Government Excellence Awards, reflecting Bahrain’s commitment to fostering youth development.
The council also reviewed key youth empowerment initiatives, including the Hope Network, a global platform launched from Bahrain to enhance international collaboration in youth empowerment. The initiative focuses on creating supportive environments that maximise youth potential as a vital resource for national progress.
