PARA TAEKWONDO – BAHRAIN bagged six medals, including one gold, in the inaugural World Para Taekwondo Poomsae Championships 2024, which was hosted by the kingdom and concluded yesterday.
Zaina Al Balooshi struck gold in the event, while Rooba Alomari and Noora Zainal each came away with silver medals. Three bronze medals were clinched for Bahrain by Mohamed Jasim, Yasmeen Fekri, and Rawan Alsaad.
With their medal haul, the Bahrainis finished an impressive fifth on the final rankings of national teams with medals. Morocco were first with three gold, one silver, and one bronze; followed by Croatia with two gold, one silver, and four bronze medals; and the UK with two gold and one silver medal.
Right ahead of Bahrain were India, who claimed one gold, four silver, and eight bronze medals.
The event was held by the Bahrain Paralympic Committee (BPC) in cooperation with the World Taekwondo Federation.
The kingdom is next set to host the Bahrain 2024 Para Taekwondo Open tomorrow. It will be held at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
