KUWAIT CITY - A Kuwaiti man was assaulted and robbed after being lured to a hotel room by a female caller.
It all started when he received a call from the person, later revealed to be impersonating a woman's voice. The scam caller engaged in casual conversation and slowly built trust with him, leading to an arranged meeting at a hotel room where he was attacked by four men who took his belongings including cash and his wallet. During the ordeal, he was coerced to ask his friends to transfer money to him which they eventually received.
Once the attackers left him, the incident was reported to the Rumaithiya police station where public prosecution was alerted to the situation and eventually issued an order to arrest the perpetrators. After a raid on the hotel room, a team of police and detectives apprehended the four individuals responsible, who later confessed their actions after evidence showed their bank transfers.
The perpetrators remain in custody to await further legal proceedings. The case has been classified as a felony.
