MOTORSPORT – BAHRAINI-British motor racing team 2 Seas Motorsport showed impressive pace yesterday in the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa Prologue, held at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.
2 Seas newcomer Nelson Panciatici ranked fifth amongst Gold class competitors and 44th overall in the morning test session. He had a fastest lap time of two minutes 21.607 seconds while posting 41 laps in all around the world-famous 7.004-kilometre track.
Teammate Martin Kodric then took over the driving duties in the afternoon test. He placed second in class and seventh overall on the timesheet, clocking a best lap of 2:19.938. Kodric completed 50 laps in his run.
The two-day Prologue is the official test for the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, which is the second round of the 2024 GT World Challenge Europe’s Endurance Cup, set to take place from June 26 to 30.
2 Seas are in the tests with four drivers. Joining Frenchman Panciatici and Croatian Kodric are team co-owner Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain and Lewis Williamson of Scotland.
The Prologue continues today with another two sessions on track.
The 2024 GT World Challenge Europe’s Endurance Cup features five rounds in all. Round three will be held at the Nurburgring in Germany from July 26 to 28, and then the fourth and penultimate meeting will take place from September 20 to 22 in Monza, Italy. The curtain-closer is then scheduled for November 21 to 23 in Jeddah.
