A customer was left with toilet trauma at a popular café in the US state of Florida.
Customer Paul Kerouac had gone to Dunkin Donuts for a quick coffee and doughnut. After visiting the bathroom, he was horrified when a faulty toilet burst its contents into his face, leaving him ‘scarred both mentally and emotionally’.
The American seeks to sue the company for $50,000 in relation to the trauma that he had to endure. Alongside his physical injuries, he claims he suffered ‘permanent and significant emotional injury, mental anguish, loss for the capacity of enjoyment of life, as well as the expense of medical care and treatment’.
His attorney Scott Spradley argued that the cost of therapy has also been a burden. It was clear that the staff at the franchise were allegedly aware of the malfunctioning toilet during the time of the incident but had failed to notify customers. The staff had even admitted to similar such incidents happening in the past.
