Riffa and Sitra are all geared up for their semi-final clash tonight in the 2024-25 His Majesty the King’s Cup football tournament.
The two sides face off at Khalifa Sports City Stadium this evening in a game scheduled to kick off at 7pm.
Riffa’s Spanish head coach Carlos Inarejos Hernandez said during his pre-match Press conference yesterday that they are happy to be in the last four and will strive hard tomorrow to reach the final.
He stressed that Riffa are always keen to compete for a title, but they are well-aware that the match against Sitra will not be an easy one.
Inarejos said that Sitra are a respectable team with distinguished players, and that his squad must be highly focused to claim the victory.
Meanwhile, Sitra’s Croatian tactician Dragan Tadic expressed similar views. Speaking in his own Press conference yesterday, he said that a very difficult match awaits them against Riffa.
He acknowledged that they understand the size of the challenge they will face, and that they have utmost respect for their opponents.
He said that such high-profile games require top concentration and double the effort from all their team members, whom he described are currently in a good mental and technical state.
Tadic highlighted that they are confident heading into tonight’s important match, and that they remain focused on their goal of reaching the tournament final.
The winners from tonight’s head-to-head will then go up against the victors of tomorrow’s semi-final between Muharraq and two-time defending Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League champions Al Khaldiya.
Their game is also scheduled for a 7pm kick-off at Khalifa Sports City Stadium.
The His Majesty the King’s Cup is Bahrain’s richest annual football tournament. It is a single-elimination competition featuring sides from both the Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League and the Bahrain Second Division.
