East Riffa Secondary School for Boys, the defending champions of the Nasser Bin Hamad School Football Tournament for Secondary Schools, showcased their dominance once again as they secured a commanding 6-0 victory over Hamad Town Secondary School in the quarter-final.
From the opening whistle, East Riffa School left no doubt about their intentions, delivering an exceptional performance that left their opponents struggling to keep up. Led by Coach Rakan Mufleh, the team displayed remarkable teamwork and individual brilliance throughout the match.
The first half saw East Riffa School assert their authority with goals from Ahmed Eid and Mohammed Al Sheikhani, the tournament’s leading scorer, who added to his tally. Nasser Awad then sealed the deal just before halftime, leaving Hamad Town School with a daunting task for the remainder of the match.
Despite their best efforts, Hamad Town School couldn’t find a way past East Riffa’s solid defense, which has proven to be impenetrable throughout the championship. Conversely, East Riffa maintained their offensive pressure, with Al Sheikhani completing an incredible super hat-trick in the second half. His goals in the 50th, 75th, and 76th minutes further emphasised East Riffa’s dominance, resulting in a resounding 6-0 victory.
With this impressive win, East Riffa School solidified their status as the favorites to claim the championship title once again. Their exceptional performance sets up an eagerly anticipated semi-final clash against Al Hedaya Al Khalifia School, which promises to be a thrilling encounter akin to an early final.
As the Nasser bin Hamad Football Tournament for Secondary Schools progresses, football enthusiasts and fans eagerly await the remaining quarterfinal match between Shaikh Abdulaziz School and the British School. The winner of this match will earn the opportunity to face the formidable Nasser Vocational Training Centre in the semifinals, adding another layer of excitement to the competition.
Being held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and organised by Education Ministry, the tournament is backed by platinum sponsor National Bank of Bahrain (NBB).
