Al Hedaya Al Khalifia Secondary School for Boys and Nasser Vocational and Training Centre have successfully made their way to the semi-finals of the Nasser Bin Hamad Football Tournament for Secondary Schools after defeating Bahrain Bayan School and Shaikh Isa bin Ali Secondary School for Boys respectively.
Al Hedaya demonstrated their prowess by defeating Bahrain Bayan School with an impressive 4-2 scoreline in the quarter-finals. The match showcased the exceptional skills of Saif Abdullah Al Buflasa, Al Hedaya’s striker, who delivered a stellar hat-trick and rightfully claimed the man of the match award.
Mohammed Salah Abdullah also made a valuable contribution with a well-executed goal, while Sami Bassam netted both goals for Bahrain Bayan School.
The match was fiercely contested, with both teams exhibiting intense competitiveness. However, Al Hedaya’s cohesive teamwork ultimately proved superior, while Bahrain Bayan heavily relied on the individual brilliance of their striker Bassam, who managed to score twice.
Nasser Centre displayed an outstanding performance characterised by superior organisation and skillful gameplay throughout the match. Their relentless efforts yielded numerous dangerous opportunities, in stark contrast to the struggles faced by Shaikh Isa bin Ali School, who found it challenging to construct cohesive attacks and often lost possession in the midfield.
Nasser Centre surged ahead with an early goal courtesy of their standout player Yusuf Ashir, elevating their focus and confidence. In the second half, Ashir once again showcased his great scoring capabilities by adding another goal, while Khalid Al Khaldi extended the lead with a confidently converted penalty kick. Khalid Khalaf sealed the victory with a fourth goal, while Mohammad Mas’ad scored a consolation goal for Shaikh Isa during injury time.
