CELEBRATIONS to mark Eid festivities are in full swing with an array of musical performances lined up over the weekend.
Iraqi singer Aseel Hameem will serenade crowds with an unforgettable show at the Gulf Hotel Bahrain on the first day of Eid. Doors open at 7.30pm.
Ms Hameem is a regional favourite when it comes to Iraqi pop, particularly in the Gulf. In 2019, her song Al Mafrood was the most-streamed track in Saudi Arabia on Spotify, and Hameem the most-streamed artist.
On the second day of Eid, Saudi legend Rabeh Saqer will perform at the Al Dana Amphitheatre.
Saqer is one of the Arab music world’s most beloved artists with songs such as Ana Ahebbak and Latemanan capturing the hearts of fans across the world. He is also a multi-talented composer who has been mixing Western sounds with classical Arabic music since the 80s.
The traditional Bahraini Mohammed bin Faris Band will perform at the Cultural Hall in Manama, depicting tales from the life of a pearl diver through melodies, songs and ballads.
The free event will be held on the third day of Eid, beginning 8pm.
An evening of spectacular entertainment is in store for audiences with a concert by Egyptian singer, actor and composer Hany Shaker on the fourth day of Eid.
Shaker has an extensive musical career with hundreds of songs and a large number of accolades. He has worked with iconic composers including Yehia El-Mougi, Baligh Hamdy, Ammar El Shereei, and Mounir Mourad.
The concert will take place at the Gulf Hotel and doors open at 6pm.
An Arabic comedy show will be held over this holiday weekend at Adhari Park.
Al Safira Aziza Comedy Show, directed by Hussain Alhulaibi, will leave crowds in stitches with its witty jokes and amusing characters. The ticketed show will take place from April 21 to 24.
Catboy, Owlette, and Gekko from the beloved PJ Masks series will entertain little ones with a mesmerising stage show, at City Centre Bahrain, starting April 22.
During the event, children can meet their favourite heroes between 2pm and 10pm each day, until April 29.
