DUTCH player Marc Dijkhuizen eased past Janji Soquino of the Philippines 6-3, 6-4 to clinch the men’s super singles title on the final day of the 34th GPIC Open Tennis Championship, organised by the Bahrain Tennis Club (BTC) at its courts in Juffair.
In the women’s singles competition, Ana Espinosa took the title defeating Ralista Zasheva in the final, and the women’s doubles crown went to Theiss Corral and Espinosa beating Swim Shawn and Jennifer Heaton.
The presentation ceremony was attended by GPIC general manager-corporate support Adnan A. Razaq Al Mahmood, GPIC executive advisor Fadhel Malalla Alansari, BTC president Khamis Al Muqla and other officials.
Youssef Qaed and Hassan Abdul Redha were crowned the super doubles champions defeating Genji Sukino and Keel Leicester, and in the men’s singles competition, Gilbert Sincruz took first place beating Ahmed Rizk, and in men’s doubles, Salman Verdosi and Gilbert Cruz won first place, while John Kaye and Nacho Darmardi were placed second.
