Al Mohamediya Racing’s Medal Winner emerged victorious after an exciting race to clinch the Bahrain Gold Cup, sponsored by stc, during the 21st event of the season, organised by Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club at its race track in Sakhir yesterday.
Trained by Hussain Aldailami and ridden by Paddy Mathers, Medal Winner raced past Gunners Racing’s Cloud Drift to win the 2,000 metre class 1, grade 1 race for imported horses three years old and above. The winner of the day’s eighth race also claimed a prize of BD10,000.
What a Welcome of Victorious finished third.
Ramadhan Stable’s Likethelook sealed victory in the 1,200m seventh race to grab the stc Pay Cup. The winner of the class 1, grade 2 race was followed by Light Angel of Al-Afoo Racing Stable and Al Adiyat Racing’s Breath of Air.
Fobidden Land, owned by Hasan Mefareh Alajmi, won the 1,400m sixth race for stc Cup leaving behind Al Mallah Syndicate’s Jamais Assez in second place. Y&A Syndicate’s Absolutio claimed the third spot.

Living Art, owned by Abdulla Fawzi Nass, clinched the Late Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Cup for the fifth race while Campolina, owned by Abdulla Fawzi Nass, emerged winner of the fourth race for stc Tajer Cup.
The third race, for The Jockey Club Cup, was claimed by Al-Afoo Racing Stable’s Ocean Star while Saheel, owned by Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, won the second race for stc Cup.
Tuwaisan 1762 of Victorious won the first race of the day to bag the stc Cup.
In attendance were Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club High Committee chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa as well as representatives of stc.
stc chief executive officer Nezar Banabeela presented the Bahrain Gold Cup to Shaikh Hesham bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa and the CTC Cup to trainer Jaber Ramadhan.

Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club executive director Shaikh Salman bin Rashid Al Khalifa presented the cup of late Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khalifa to Abdulla Fawzi Nass.
