Sanjay Jaimy and Adnan Ebrahim, both of Bahrain, scored a double each in the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam-Lulu Exchange GCC Junior Badminton Tournament.
Sanjay won the boys under-17 singles and doubles (with Nadeem Nahaz of Bahrain) while Adnan claimed the corresponding boys under-19 crown (doubles with Abdulla Shaheer of the UAE).
Another star performer was Tanisha Crasto of the UAE who won all her matches in the under-15, under-17 and under-19 girls singles.
The youngest participant in the tournament was five-and-half-year-old Mohammed Nazmi from Saudi Arabia.
The tournament, which attracted more than 210 participants from GCC countries – 63 from Bahrain, 56 from Saudi Arabia, 35 from Kuwait, 29 from the UAE, 26 from Qatar and one from Oman – was held in association with Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation.
Trophies were presented to the winners and runners-up while all participants received certificates.
