Do you remember that two young men were arrested for posting selfies of them smiling with the Address Downtown Hotel burning behind them in Dubai on New Year’s Eve?
Well, they were released later without any charge as ‘no evidence of criminal intent’ was established.
Dubai Public Prosecution had freed these men following a thorough investigation and review of the posted picture, case file and after hearing to all witnesses.
However, if a person who posts content is also responsible for the comments on that post, even if those comments are not written by the same person but his or her friends or family members.
In UAE, if comments, photos, selfies, videos cross the legal line of what is defined in the law, you are surely going to find yourself in trouble: behind bars, until you come clean.
