Riyadh: Municipal authorities clamped down on restaurants over hygiene concerns and other violations. Al-Taif Trustees Council inspectors closed down 12 restaurants and shopping outlets in Al-Ateef region in the Governorate of Taif.
They noted 57 violations relating to expired licences and non-compliance to the municipal rules and regulations.
The inspectors shut down several restaurants which were running without licence or were serving expired food items to customers, reported local Arabic daily Sabq.
