Riyadh: A restaurant has been shut down after selling a rice meal cooked with a mouse in the province of Al-Joof.
The customer, a Saudi national, complained to the authorities after finding the rat in the parcel of rice on returning home in the city of Skaka.
The municipal authorities ordered the restaurant to be shut down and slammed a hefty fine on its owner for violating the required hygienic regulations.
Inspectors visited the restaurant and found traces of rats inside the restaurant, noticing other violation which they reported to the municipality.
They also disposed of the food products which were stocked in the kitchen as a precautionary measure.
