Filming a movie can be a long tedious process and some stars take to pranking their co-stars to alleviate their boredom.
However there are those who are serial pranksters - George Clooney and Brad Pitt are legendary in this regard.
Here are some of the meanest pranks that Hollywood A-listers have played on their co-stars.
George Clooney makes quite a few appearances on this list having pranked Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Sandra Bullock, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey among others...
Leonardo Di Caprio and Jonah Hill
In The Wolf of Wall Street, there's a scene where Leonardo DiCaprio's and Jonah Hill's characters are eating sushi, and in the script, Hill's character is supposed to accept the last piece from DiCaprio's character. But Hill wanted to prank his co-star and during the first take of the sushi scene, Hill went off script and said "No, you have it," when offered the last piece of sushi. And since Hill was familiar with director Martin Scorsese's penchant for shooting the same scene over and over. So because they re-shot that scene dozens of times, at the end of the night, DiCaprio had eaten about 70 pieces of raw yellowtail and was puking into a trash can.

Hill didn't feel too guilty about that prank which Scorsese thought it was hilarious. Leo ensured that he got his own back. One afternoon, DiCaprio ran up to Hill screaming like a rabid fan and someone caught it on tape. The video went viral, leading Hill to comment that he felt bad for his friend and co-star that a moment between them couldn't escape the public eye.
Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford
Taking pranking to a different level director Steven Spielberg pranked his lead actor , Harrison Ford, during the filming of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. In the scene, Indiana Jones is tied to a boulder and about to be whipped from behind. Rather than one of the bad guys from the film, Spielberg had Barbra Streisand show up to do the whipping. With each lash, Streisand would berate Ford for his movies, shouting lines like "This is for all the money you're going to make on Return of the Jedi!"
To top things off, Carrie Fisher shows up to shield Ford from the blows.
This was once thought to be a rumour but then some low-quality footage made its way online confirming that Spielberg really does have a mean sense of humour.
Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper
This happened during the filming of American Hustle when Jennifer co-stars Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper decided to freak her out.
Lawrence was already nervous about filming in a graveyard (which was for a scene that didn't make it into the final cut), and Cooper and Bale had the prop team make a gravestone that read: "Jennifer Lawrence, born August 15, 1890, died April 1, 1913." Lawrence reportedly screamed and said, "That's MY name! Is this just a coincidence, or am I going to die?"
Obviously, if Lawrence had read closely, she would have seen that the name doppleganger died in 1913, and on April 1st, for that matter. The creepiest thing about the prank? The fake Jennifer Lawrence lived to be 23, and the actor Jennifer Lawrence, born in 1990, was 23 when American Hustle came out.
George Clooney – Brad Pitt pranking feud
Clooney assembled a crowd of fans outside Brad Pitt's hotel window. When Pitt appeared, they went wild. However, Clooney had them chanting, "George! George! George!" all night.
He also printed some stationary with Brad Pitt’s name on it and sent letters to other stars like Meryl Streep, Don Cheadle, Tom Cruise.
In retaliation Brad Pitt sent out a memo to the Italian crew that said Clooney wanted to be referred to as "Danny Ocean" and that they could not make eye contact with him (the Italian newspapers eventually wrote about it, as if it were true).

In 2005, Clooney threw a fake wedding for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to prank the paparazzi. He ordered high-top tables and put them on his lawn, so helicopters would see it. For two weeks the press believed it was happening.
Clooney pranks Matt Damon on Monuments Men
Matt Damon was staying with Clooney; knowing that Damon was trying to lose weight, Clooney had a tailor take Damon's pants in an eighth of an inch, every few days. Damon could not understand how he was gaining weight.
George Clooney gets back at Tina Fey and Amy Poehler
In 2014, after Tina Fey and Amy Poehler told a particularly cutting and funny joke about Clooney at the Golden Globes, Clooney promised retribution.
First, he sent Tina and Amy a letter from Matt Damon that said, "Look, it sounds hypocritical because I laughed at the jokes about George and Leo, but you know, that’s sort of what people think about them. But when you called me a garbage man, it just seemed like low hanging fruit, it just seemed like an easy joke. And you know, I don’t want an apology, I don’t want anything else, I just want you to know that my kid now calls me the garbage man.”

Clooney pranks Sandra Bullock and Julia Roberts
In the nineties, George Clooney was at a dinner party with Sandra Bullock. Bullock saw Clooney with his shirt off by the pool, and he said he was going to jump in. So, Bullock, Clooney, and another guest held hands, and Clooney said on the count of three they'd all jump in. On three, only Bullock jumped. Her expensive dress started disintegrating.
He once put a bucket of water over Julia Roberts's doorway, so when she'd open it, she'd get drenched; however, a bellman got it instead. (People)
In 2004, on the sets of Ocean's Twelve, Clooney would leave potted plants outside the door of Julia Roberts's trailer, so she couldn't get out.
Sam Claflin and Emilia Clarke prank each other on sets of ‘Me without You’
Emilia Clarke and her costar Sam Claflin played a number of pranks on each other, but one of Emilia's was definitely the most bizarre. She put fish that she had had for lunch in his brand-new socks.
Claflin said that he gagged when he found the fish, which is totally understandable. While Claflin played some pranks on his pretty costar, like stealing all the furniture out of her room, Clarke took the practical jokes to a new level. In addition to the fishy foot assault, she also planted a fart machine in the wheelchair Claflin used to play paralyzed businessman.
