HORSERACING – ONEMOREDANCE triumphed in the third handicap event of this year’s Dublin to Bahrain Race Series, held at Leopardstown Racecourse in Ireland.
The three-year-old triumphed in the eight-furlong event competing for owners Whyte Hickey Rafter Kilkenny Syndicate and trainer JP Murtagh, with jockey Patrick McGettigan in the saddle.
Onemoredance was in the clear two furlongs out, and rode well to win with a two lengths’ margin ahead of runner-up Aviatrice, racing for MRC International, David Marnane, and Luke McAteer. Taking third in the 10-runner field was Summer Show for PA Kelly, Peter Lawlor, and Rory Cleary.
This year’s Dublin to Bahrain Race Series is in its third edition. The seven-race schedule consists of four handicaps, with the winner of each earning an automatic spot in the Bahrain Turf Series, which features 12 races and prize money of $80,000 to $100,000 apiece.
The series’ fourth and final handicap event is set for October 19.
The three other races are the Group Three The Bahrain Turf Club Desmond Stakes held earlier this month, the Group One The Royal Bahrain Irish Champion Stakes on September 13, and the Listed The Bahrain Turf Club Knockaire Stakes on October 19.
