Sami Dimassi, United Nations Environment Programme representative and regional director for West Asia, has highlighted Bahrain’s growing efforts to tackle environmental challenges, noting that threats such as climate change, air quality, waste management and water scarcity are shared globally and require international co-operation.
In an interview with Akhbar Al Khaleej, he commended Bahrain for strengthening its climate policies in recent years, launching initiatives to accelerate climate action and promote circular waste management to reduce environmental impact and improve resource efficiency .
