New rules aimed at regulating traditional fishing tools and curb random practices were issued yesterday.
The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) announced the implementation of Edict 6 of 2025 concerning regulations on fishing using nets, cages (gargoor), fish traps and handlines (khayya), as part of the nation’s ongoing efforts to protect the marine environment and ensure the sustainability of fishery resources .
