A food vendor in Kenscoff, Haiti, who lost family members to a violent gang, took revenge on 40 gang members by poisoning them with caterpillar oil.
The woman, who specialised in pastries, offered dozens of gang members free empanadas as a gesture of gratitude for ‘protecting her neighbourhood’. However, this was her cunning tactic of revenge against those who had killed several of her family members.
She used ‘chenille oil’, a poison commonly used to eliminate caterpillars.
All of those who ate the pastries began experiencing violent convulsions and attempted to reach the hospital. However, according to a report by De Último Minuto, every person who consumed the empanadas either died on the way to the hospital or while waiting for help to arrive.
Local media reported the deaths of 40 members of ‘Viv Ansanm’, a well-known gang group in Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital city.
Following the incident, the woman’s house was burned down and completely razed, but she had managed to escape before revenge could be taken against her.
She went to the police station to confess her crime and to seek protection.
