Egyptian actor and comedian Soliman Eid passed away at the age of 64 after a sudden medical emergency.
Born on 17 October 1961, Eid graduated from the High Institute of Theatrical Arts acting department and gained fame for his light-hearted humor and strong presence.
He starred in over 300 works, including films and TV series that became staples of Egyptian comedy.
Eid's breakout role as a comedian came in 1992 when he starred alongside Adel Emam in Terrorism and Kebab. He played memorable roles in successful films, such as Sherif Arafa's Toyour Al-Zalam (1995) and Hammam in Amsterdam (1999).
Eid never parted ways with the theatre throughout his life, having memorable roles in plays such as Parliament of Women (1983), Al-Zaeem (1993), Afroto (1999), Teatro Masr (2013), Badia's Yard (2016), and Bank Robbers (2022). He amassed a portfolio of over 120 films, 150 TV series, and 40 theatre plays.
His most recent appearances include roles in several 2025 Ramadan TV series, including Master of the People, The Station Cafe, Many Happy Returns, and Closed for Maintenance. Eid's most recent film, Siko Siko, was released in Egyptian cinemas in March.
