London: London will stage the inaugural FIP Intercontinental Cup in July, marking the first time the world's top professional padel players will compete in the UK in an elite tournament.
The competition, described as padel's equivalent of golf's Ryder Cup or tennis's Laver Cup, will feature an Americas versus Europe team format, adding a new dimension to the sport's global calendar as it continues its rapid international expansion.
"Hosting the FIP Intercontinental Cup in London is a landmark moment for the international expansion of professional padel," said Luigi Carraro, President of the International Padel Federation.
"London has hosted some of the most iconic moments in sporting history – and now, professional padel will become part of that legacy as we expand globally and drive toward Olympic inclusion."
Details on the London venue for the July 25-27 event will follow, organisers said.
