Abu Dhabi: The AIM Congress 2025 in Abu Dhabi explored the role of technology in promoting sustainable urban development, with the participation of global leaders, innovators, policymakers, and pioneers from the public and private sectors.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the panel discussions delivered strategic insights on building smart and resilient cities for the future. A session titled “Smart Cities and Human-Centric Innovation” focused on mechanisms for advancing urban transformation, while another session, titled “How 5G is Redefining Urban Connectivity, Governance, and Service Delivery,” addressed the evolving role of digital connectivity.
The sessions included contributions and insights from leaders and experts. Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, Nigeria, presented his city renewal agenda, which centres on youth empowerment and economic revitalisation through grassroots initiatives. Hakan Ozdemir, CEO of Smart Infrastructure Middle East at Siemens, highlighted the role of artificial intelligence, automation, and cybersecurity in digital city transformation. Khaled Hashim, President of Honeywell International Middle East, emphasised the importance of infrastructure modernisation and energy transition strategies in building smart cities.
