BASKETBALL – Nuwaidrat maintained their pristine record in League B of the 2024-25 Zain Bahrain Basketball League last night following a 98-66 victory over Sitra at Zain Basketball Arena in Um Al Hassam.
Nuwaidrat used a 23-11 second quarter to turn a 20-25 deficit at the end of the first to a 43-36 lead at the half. They maintained their strong showing in the final two periods and led by as many as their final winning margin of 32 points.
Three players scored over 20 points for Nuwaidrat in their win. Malik Wineglass had 23, while Nader Shaker and Mohamed Salman Ali each had 21 points. Wineglass and Shaker also took down 12 rebounds apiece in the contest. Abbas Jameel Ebrahim added 14 while Murtadha Salman had 13.
For Sitra, who were playing without a professional, Dhaif Husain was their leading scorer with 12 points off the bench.
With the result, Nuwaidrat claimed their seventh victory in as many outings, while Sitra suffered their fourth loss in seven games.
League action continues tonight with two games on schedule. Isa Town and Bahrain Club face off at 6pm, also in League B, followed by Al Hala taking on Al Ettihad at 8pm in the Premier League.
Tomorrow, Ahli and Najma lock horns in the lone game at 8pm.
