Gulf Cup-winning Bahrain national team goalkeeper Ebrahim Luthfallah has completed a transfer to Muharraq Club from Al Ahli.
This was confirmed by his new team in a post published yesterday on social media.
Luthfallah is a major signing for Muharraq, who currently top the table in the 2024-25 Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League.
The popular fan-favourite was named Best Goalkeeper of the recently held 26th Gulf Cup, in which Bahrain were crowned champions, with Luthfallah playing a key role.
“Thank you from my heart to Al Ahli Club, its technical and administrative teams, and my player brothers for the two-and-a-half years I spent (with the team) in my sporting career,” Luthfallah said in a post on his official social media account.
“A special thanks to the loyal fans who have supported me and stood by me from the first day until my transfer. You will always be in my heart.”
Among the highlights in Luthfallah’s Ahli career was their title triumph in last season’s His Majesty the King’s Cup.
He was also a part of the Ahli team that became the first Bahraini representatives in the all-new Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Challenge League.
