VOLLEYBALL – Bahrain's Dar Kulaib battled back from two sets down to edge past Bani Yas of the UAE 3-2 (17-25, 18-25, 27-25, 25-20, 15-10) in their first match of the ninth-to-12 classification bracket in the 43rd Arab Men’s Volleyball Clubs Championship, currently taking place in Doha, Qatar.
The reigning Isa Bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League title holders will now be looking to secure ninth place overall in the tournament.
They will take on Kuwait SC, who defeated fellow-Kuwaiti outfit Burgan 3-1 (25-20, 31-33, 25-11, 27-25) in yesterday’s other game in their bracket.
Attending yesterday’s events in the Qatari capital was Bahrain Volleyball Association president and Arab Volleyball Association chief Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, who was joined by other volleyball officials from the region and the Qatar Volleyball Association.
