SHOWJUMPING – Top Bahraini showjumper Shaikh Hassan bin Rashid Al Khalifa secured a win at the Al Shiraa Horse Show in Abu Dhabi, the UAE.
Shaikh Hassan represented the kingdom with an outstanding performance at the prestigious CSI four- and two-star event.
He achieved victory in the highly competitive 125cm speed class on his homebred horse HBR Even Flow, competing against over 100 riders, including Olympians and top-100 ranked athletes.
Shaikh Hassan also secured two podium finishes and earned valuable FEI world ranking points.
On the occasion, Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) president Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa commended Shaikh Hassan’s achievement, noting that it adds to the series of accomplishments by Bahraini showjumpers on the international stage.
Shaikh Isa attributed these successes to the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa; His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister; and the efforts of His Majesty King Hamad’s humanitarian work and youth affairs representative and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and SCYS first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in promoting equestrian sports in the kingdom.
Shaikh Hassan expressed his appreciation to Shaikh Isa for his unwavering support of equestrian sports and showjumping, emphasising the importance of this victory for Bahrain and the opportunities it provides for riders to compete internationally.
