ENDURANCE HORSERACING – BAHRAIN’S Royal Endurance Team had solid results yesterday in the FEI Group VII Endurance Championship Butheeb 2025, held in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi.
The event featured more than 100 riders, both men and women, flying the flags of 14 countries.
Raed Mahmood was the team’s best finisher. He completed the 120-kilometre ride in seventh place overall, while teammate Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa came in 13th place.
Mahmood led the field until the start of the fourth stage but fell behind heading towards the finish.
Emirati riders secured the top three spots to claim a fine result at home.
Taking first place overall was Rashid Saeed Malhouf, while Ali Al Falasi was the runner-up. Finishing in third was Ahmed Saleh Amin.
Bahrain’s Royal Endurance Team director Dr Khaled Ahmed Hassan expressed his pride with their performance in the race. He said that the team benefited greatly from this participation, despite being unable to step onto the podium.
Dr Hasan pointed out that their younger riders gained valuable experience from participating, and wished the team greater success in their upcoming competitions later this year, both locally and internationally.
Also participating with Bahrain’s Royal Endurance Team in the UAE capital were Hamad Al Janahi, Fahad Hilal Al Khatri, Mohammed Al Hashemi, Salman Issa, Mohammed Abdulsamad Al Bastaki, Issa Al Anzi, Luay Tariq, Rashid Raed Abdulrahman, Abdulla Issa Al Kanahi, Khaled Mohammed Al Dosari, Mayouf Al Rumaihi, Mohammed Al Rowaie, and Saud Mubarak Sabt.
