Muharraq Nights is back and set to feature a range of cultural activities and musical performances.
The festival, which kicks off today and runs until December 30, is being organised by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca). It will include a number of food, music and art-related events, all taking place along the 3.5km-long Pearling Path.
An art installation titled, Windows of Muharraq will highlight the city’s rich history by using televisions to play old songs and screen pictures that represent the Muharraq’s past.
It’s open from Sunday to Wednesday, 5pm to 10pm, and Thursday to Saturday, 5pm to midnight, at Dar Jnna.
There will also be a number of live shows at Qala’t Bu Mahir.
Bahraini singer Faisal Al Ansari, who is best known for fusion music, will perform a range of traditional songs tonight, at 8pm.
Mohammed
Tomorrow, singer Mohammed Aseeri will stage a sensational musical evening with the Qanun, a Middle Eastern instrument that dates back to the 10th century, at 8pm.
Bahraini singer Rashid Zowayed and the Mohammed Bin Faris Band will perform timeless Bahraini folk acts on Sunday, at 8pm.
