TRIATHLON – Bahraini triathlete Hamad Al Mansoori has qualified for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship 2024 after finishing third in last weekend’s Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain, marking a significant achievement in his athletic career.
Al Mansoori’s performance secured his place in the world championship, which will be held in Taupo, New Zealand on December 14 and 15.
The event is set to feature fierce competition from international athletes. Al Mansoori’s participation contributes to Bahrain’s recent successes in global sport, with its athletes continually advancing the kingdom’s standing in international competitions.
Al Mansoori expressed his joy at the accomplishment, crediting the support from Bahrain’s sports leadership for making it possible.
He highlighted that the race in the kingdom posed significant physical and mental challenges, but attributed his success to determination and perseverance. He expressed eagerness to represent Bahrain in the best possible way at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship.
Al Mansoori also noted his appreciation for his supportive team and the sports authorities for providing the resources to achieve this milestone, emphasising his commitment to deliver an outstanding performance on the global stage.
