ENDURANCE HORSERACING – THE International Equestrian Federation (FEI) honoured His Majesty King Hamad’s humanitarian work and youth affairs representative and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his global accomplishments as the only Arab rider to achieve his various distinctions in international endurance horseracing.
This came during the FEI General Assembly 2024, held in Abu Dhabi, the UAE.
The recognition marks Shaikh Nasser’s consecutive victories in the FEI Endurance World Championships, including his latest win in September in Monpazier, France, over a 160km course, to go with his win in the 2022 championship held in Bou Thib, the UAE.
The FEI also acknowledged Shaikh Nasser’s ongoing contributions to the sport and his pivotal role in advancing endurance racing globally.
On behalf of Shaikh Nasser, who is also Bahrain’s Royal Endurance Team captain, Bahrain Ambassador to the UAE and FEI honourary vice-president Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa received the award from FEI president Ingmar De Vos at the general assembly.
Shaikh Nasser expressed his appreciation to the FEI for the recognition, considering it a motivation to continue advancing endurance sports.
He also commended the efforts of the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, led by Major-General Dr Ahmed Naser Al Raisi, and FEI Group VII president Sultan Al Yahyai for their role in supporting the sport.
Shaikh Khalid congratulated Shaikh Nasser on the recognition, which celebrates the accomplishments of riders from Group VII of the FEI. He wished Shaikh Nasser continued success and achievements.
