CRICKET – THE jersey unveiling ceremony for the Abraj Premier League (APL5) took place over the weekend.
The event marked the continued success and growth of the APL5 tournament. Various dignitaries from the sponsors and key stakeholders were in attendance.
Title sponsor Mega Contracting, along with the main sponsors BFC, Weather Cool, Desi Zaika, Abraj Al Lulu Association, and GDNonline, played an instrumental role in organising the event.
Representatives from each sponsor participated in the jersey unveiling.
All six team captains from the participating teams – Abraj Gladiators, Abraj Violets, Abraj SuperGiants, Abraj Daredevils, Abraj Rocking Royals, and Abraj Strikers – were present to unveil their respective team jerseys, alongside their sponsors.
The captains reflected on the impressive growth of the APL5, highlighting how the competition has improved year after year.
Special guest Prachur Shukla from the Bahrain Cricket Federation (BCF) shared his insights on the development of cricket in Bahrain. He spoke about new opportunities for young cricketers and emphasised the importance of encouraging women to participate in the sport, underlining the BCF’s commitment to making cricket more inclusive.
Special thanks were extended to Priya Jangid from Mega Contracting, Deepak Nair from BFC, Sushant Khar and Iyyappan K from Abraj Al Lulu Association, Stany Fernandes from Weather Cool, Rajni Madan from Desi Zaika, and Avinash Saxena from the GDN for gracing the occasion with their presence.
