FOOTBALL – BAHRAIN’S under-23 Olympic football team kicked off their latest training gathering in the kingdom last night.
The Bahrain Football Association (BFA) announced a 28-player squad list, selected by head coach Hicham Dmiai.
The Bahrainis are preparing for upcoming competitions.
The Olympic team’s roster includes Sayed Mahmood Al Mosawi, Ahmed Al Dailami, Saad Al Attar, Ashraf Mubarak, Hamad Hasan, Ali Alkhabbaz, Abdulla Freih, Ali Juma, Karar Haider, Sayed Ali Hasan, Ali Issa, Ahmed Albasri, Abbas Mohammed, Mahmood Albannia, Ali Abduljalil, Ali Tarada, Salem Al Doseri, Mustafa Mohammed, Ramzi Khudair, Abdulaziz Jamal, Ali Hussain, Salman Younes, Abdulla Burashed, Saeed Mohammed, Ahmed Nasser, Talal Sabt, Ali Sahwan, and Abdulrahman Aboud.
The under-23s for the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers, which are scheduled to be held next year. They were also supposed to compete in the U23 Gulf Cup in Kuwait, but that tournament has been cancelled by the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation.
According to a team official, the BFA is working to schedule a number of friendly games for the Olympic team in their ensuing gathering next month.
These present training days are set to continue until Monday next week, the official noted.
The Olympic team held an overseas training camp in Turkey over the summer, where they took to the pitch for a series of tune-ups against local clubs.
