CRICKET – THE Indian School Bahrain (ISB) emerged champions in both the boys’ and girls’ cricket tournament, held as part of the sixth edition of the multi-sport School Games.
The competition, organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee and executed by the Bahrain Cricket Federation (BCF), featured a number of teams representing various schools across the kingdom.
Bahrain Olympic Academy director Dr Nabeel Taha was the chief guest during the awards ceremony while BCF advisory board chairman Mohammad Mansoor was the guest of honour.
In the boys’ final, ISB Team 1 won gold after beating ISB Team 2, who came away with the silver medals.
In the girls’ finale, ISB captured the gold and Pakistan Urdu School clinched the silver medals.
“ISB’s victories were a result of their exceptional batting and bowling throughout the competitions, which were achieved through rigorous training, hard work and dedication,” said coach Sunil Cheriyan.
