ENDURANCE HORSERACING – His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) chairman, and Bahrain Royal Endurance Team captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended yesterday the veterinary examination procedures for the FEI World Endurance Championship, taking place in Monpazier, France.
SCYS first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa was also present, along with Supreme Council for Environment vice-president, Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club deputy chairman, and SCYS member Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
The inspection was held at the championship village in Monpazier in preparation for the 160-kilometre race, set to take place today, with the participation of 145 jockeys from 39 countries.
Shaikh Nasser led the final training session yesterday for the team, where he instructed the jockeys to adhere to the technical plan.
On the occasion, Shaikh Nasser highlighted the importance of the world championship Bahrain’s Royal Endurance Team, noting that it demonstrates their advanced capabilities and outstanding performance.
Shaikh Nasser emphasised that the participation of skilled riders with extensive experience positions the team well to achieve positive results.
Shaikh Nasser also highlighted that the worlds always witness fierce competition among jockeys for the top positions. He expressed his best wishes for Bahrain’s Royal Endurance Team to secure top ranks and retain the title.
Shaikh Nasser will lead the team in the championship with his horse Everest La Majorie, alongside four other jockeys, namely Shaikh Isa bin Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa with his horse Fizz Fageole, Jaafar Mirza with his horse Bolt de Venelles, Othman Al Awadhi with his horse Ermine Dartagnan; and Salman Isa with his horse Elmer de Bozouls.
Sarhan Hameed on Be Goode and Hamad Isa on Deese La Majorie are the team’s reserve riders.
