HORSERACING – SOLDIER’S Heart raced to an impressive victory yesterday in the UK in another fantastic outing for Bahrain’s Victorious Racing, owned by His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Competing amongst a seven-horse field in the British Stallion Studs EBF Ripon Champion Two Yrs Old Trophy Stakes Listed Race at Ripon Races course, Soldier’s Heart took first place with jockey Harry Davies in the saddle.
Davies rode the Simon and Ed Crisford-trained steed strong from the start, and they went clear under two furlongs out in the six-furlong event. They held on until the end, winning comfortably with a margin of two lengths ahead of runner-up Benevento, competing for AMO Racing Limited and Giselle De Aguiar, Raphael E Freire, and David Egan.
In third was Mearall, owned by Bahrain’s Al Mohamediya Racing, who was competing for trainer Richard Fahey and ridden by jockey Oisin Orr.
