Team Bahrain Victorious riders Edoardo Zambanini and Matej Mohoric were in the top 10 on the general classification (GC) after stage two of the Tour de Pologne 2024 yesterday in Poland.
Zambanini rose five places to sixth while Mohoric dropped three places to eighth following the 15.4-kilometre individual time trial (ITT) leg.
The pair had strong results in their ITTs, with Zambanini placing 13th and Mohoric 16th, contributing to their top 10 places in the GC and the battle for the race’s yellow jersey.
Amongst their Bahrain Victorious teammates, Fred Wright came 28th in the stage while Andrea Pasqualon was 103rd, Pello Bilbao 110th, Lukasz Wisniowski 142nd, and Phil Bauhaus 144th.
After the second stage, both Zambanini and Mohoroic were also in the top 10 of the points rankings in the battle for the green jersey. Mohoric dropped one position to sixth with 21 points while Zambanini improved three spots to eighth with 18 points.
The squad remained second overall in the teams’ rankings, behind only UAE Team Emirates by two minutes and 28 seconds.
