FOOTBALL – Prize money given away to clubs in the 2023-2024 season of the Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League has been increased.
Bahrain Football Association chairman Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said that the move is in implementation of the directives of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
League champions will receive a cash prize of BD75,000 while first and second runners-up will get BD50,000 and BD30,000, respectively.
Those placed fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth will receive BD20,000, BD18,000, BD16,000, BD14,000, BD12,000, BD10,000 and BD8,000, respectively. The two relegated teams will get BD6,000 each.
Shaikh Ali described the increase in prize money for the second consecutive year as a milestone in the history of Bahrain sport as it aims to boost the clubs’ technical and competitive level.
