THE Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) yesterday organised the eighth race of the 2023-2024 season at Al Raffah racecourse, Sakhir, in the presence of REHC High Committee chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The eight-round race, which saw winners from eight different stables, also saw the attendance of royal family members and horseracing fans.
Kuheilat Al Adiyat 1782, of the Victorious Stable, came first in the opening round over 1,400m for WAHO class 2, 3, 4 and maiden horses. It was trained by Yousif Taher and ridden by Adam Al Balushi.
Authority, owned by Abdulla Fawzi Nass, trained by Fawzi Nass and ridden by Jason Watson, won the second round over 1,000m for locally bred maiden horses.
The first place in the third round over 1,200m straight for locally bred horses with handicap, went to Blues Queen from the M and E Racing Stable, trained by Allen Smith and ridden by Mia Childs.
Bint Al Jazeera, of Al Mohamediya Racing Stable, won the fourth round for locally bred horses with handicap over 2,200m. It was ridden by Jason Watson and trained by Fawzi Nass.
Thahaby, owned by Laith Mahmood Masood Al Watani, trained by Basem Mahdi and ridden by Marcialis Jaures, won the fifth round over 2,400m for imported horses with handicap.
Mubtadaa, owned by Lama Abbas Mohamed Anan, came first in the sixth round over 1,400m for imported horses with handicap. Abdulla Faisal was the jockey and it was trained by Talal Al Alawi.
In the seventh round over 1,600m for locally bred horses with handicap, Aslaan from Al Mallah Syndicate, trained by A. Jaleel Al Mallah and ridden by Carlos Henrique, won the race.
The first place of the last round over 1,600m for imported class 3, 4 and maiden horses went to Ecosystem, owned by Mohammed Khalid Abdulrahim, trained by Haider Ebrahim and ridden by Ebrahim Nader.
