TEAM Victorious rider Shaikh Isa bin Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa was crowned champion of the 120km local race, the second round of the 2023/2024 endurance racing season organised by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) at the Bahrain International Endurance Village yesterday.
His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Breef honorary president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa congratulated Shaikh Isa and praised the team for their lead and winning top positions.
Shaikh Isa’s teammates Mohammed Khalid Al Ruwaie came second and Salman Isa finished third.
Shaikh Nasser emphasised that the extensive participation witnessed in the races is indicative of the goals achieved by BREEF thanks to their keenness in creating the ideal atmosphere for all stables and riders to attract more participants. He also pointed out that the journey of endurance sports is progressing towards further development and prosperity according to an ambitious plan.
Sarhan Al Anzi of Al Safinat Stables won the international race, followed by Nasser Khalifa of N13 Stables. Al Anzi’s teammate Isa Abdullah came third.
Meanwhile, Team Victorious won the Best Horse Condition Award which is patronised by Shaikha Noora bint Hamad Al Khalifa, captain of Al Fursan team. The award was bagged by Al Ruwaie.
The winners were presented trophies by Breef secretary Ghalib Al Alawi, Breef assistant secretary and Royal Endurance Team manager Dr Khaled Ahmed Hassan, and Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Media Office and Information Centre director and Breef media, marketing and public relations committee head Tawfiq Al Salehi.
