The eighth edition of the Late Shaikh Faisal Bin Hamad Al Khalifa Horse Beauty Championship for local breed will open today and run until Saturday.
The event will be held under the patronage of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) president Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC).
Shaikh Isa thanked His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) chairman and Breef honorary president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his continued support to equestrian sports.
He also praised the support of SCYS first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
He stressed the importance of the championship, which provides an opportunity to showcase distinguished talents.
He highlighted the large participation of local stables and Bahrain owners, which reflects their keenness to compete in different Breef sports championships.
The championship is supported by Al Manara Stud (diamond sponsor) and Al Rashidiya Stable (gold sponsor), in addition to silver sponsors Youssef bin Ahmed Kanoo Group, The Arabian Horse Company for Equestrian and Veterinary Services, Abdulaziz Al Mannai and Sons Company, Infonas Company, as well as the bronze sponsor, Al Safwa Pharmacy for Veterinary Services.
Six competitions will be held in the championship – one-year-old foals category (A), one-year-old fillies category (B), 2-3-year-old foals category (A), 2-3-year-old foals category (B), mares aged four and above (A), and mares aged four and above (B).
The championship will be aired live on Bahrain Sports Channel.
