YouTuber MrBeast's latest video has him making the world a bit clearer for a thousand people after he paid for their cataract surgeries.
MrBeast, a.k.a Jimmy Donaldson, is one of the most famous content creators on YouTube with over 130 million subscribers. He is known for his generous videos in which he often gives away extravagant gifts to random people. In his latest video, MrBeast has paid for cataract surgeries of 1,000 people so that they can see once again.
In the video, he says that over 200 million people worldwide suffer from cataract, which clouds their vision. But this is not a permanent condition, and can often be cured with a simple surgery. But since many people couldn't afford the surgery, he decided to pay for them instead.
MrBeast first partnered with Jeff Levenson, an ophthalmologist and surgeon, to perform the first round of surgeries in Jacksonville, Florida. After paying for the surgeries of 40 people in Florida, Levenson put MrBeast in contact with SEE International, a non-profit that provides free eye care to people around the world who can't afford it.
With the help of the non-profit, MrBeast was able to pay for the surgeries of 1,000 people from around the world in the span of three weeks. Patients hailed from Jamaica, Honduras, Namibia, Mexico, Indonesia, Brazil, Vietnam and Kenya.
