Hollywood icon James Earl Jones has stated that he is officially retiring from the role of Darth Vader.
Jones has voiced the Star Wars character ever since his introduction in 1977.
Jones stated that he has given Disney and Lucasfilm permission to use artificial intelligence and archival recordings of his voice to recreate the role for future projects.
For the recent Star Wars series 'Obi-Wan Kenobi', Jones' voice was remastered from old recordings by Ukraine-based voice cloning company Respeecher.
