Bahraini athletes won medals in every category they participated in yesterday at the Kuwait International Karate Friendship Tournament.
“Our players took part, and picked up medals, in all categories in the tournament, which was held under the patronage of the Kuwait Olympic Committee,” Dr Hussain Alderazi, the head of the Bahrain delegation, said.
Alderazi heads the Bahrain branch of Kyokushin Kaikan Karate as a representative of the International Karate Organisation in the kingdom.
“In the men’s open-weight category, Mohamed Adel Alaradi clinched the silver medal,” Alderazi said. “And, Mariam Adel Khalil nabbed a bronze medal in the women’s open-weight category.”
Mohamed Nedhal Alderazi also won a bronze in the category for athletes aged 17, Alderazi added.
“And, in the 14-15 years category, Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed collected a silver medal,” he continued. “Most impressive of all, our Taha Yusuf bagged a bronze medal in the category for children aged seven.”
