BRAVE Combat Federation’s first-ever show in Korea will have a new main event after Tae Kyun Kim was forced to pull out due to a hand injury and his bout with Roman Bogatov was scrapped from the line-up.
A middleweight bout between Mzwandile Hlongwa and In Jae La, which has been previously announced, will now serve as the BRAVE CF 58 main event.
Mzwandile Hlongwa is well-known by MMA fans due to his viral spinning-back punch knockout from his time in the South African local scene. He made his move to the international stage as he took Khamzat Chimaev to the second round for the first time in his BRAVE CF career before going on back-to-back wars for two victories in his next bouts.
First, he got the best of fellow slugger Jeremy Smith in what was voted BRAVE CF Fight of the Year in 2019, and then followed that up with a domination of Dom Schober at BRAVE CF 41, finishing his Austrian counterpart via doctor stoppage after two rounds.
He will have a rough return to the BRAVE CF fold as he will lock horns with In Jae La, one of Korea’s finest young stars. La has a very impressive 10-1-1 professional record, and is currently riding a two-fight win streak. He has several national titles in MMA and is hoping to make a splash in his international debut.
BRAVE CF 58 will take place on April 30, and is hosted in association with leading local promotion Beast Championship Federation. Aside from the main event, international stars are expected to take on Korea’s finest in a fan-friendly fight night that will serve as BRAVE CF’s first foray into East Asia.
